How-To: Power Cycle Docking Station

If your monitors, keyboard, mouse, or network connection aren’t working properly through your Dell dock, a quick power cycle may resolve the issue.
  1. Unplug computer from dock (usb-c cable)

  2. Unplug dock from power/ac adapter

  3. Hold power button on top of dock for 15-30 seconds

  4. Plug power/ac adapter back into dock (see image from step #2). It is important that the computer is NOT connected to the dock when you power up the dock
  5. Wait 15-30 seconds for the dock to 'boot' before proceeding.  You do not need to touch the dock for this to happen, just wait.
  6. Plug the computer back into the dock with the usb-c type cable (see image from step #1)
