How-To: Manage MiCollab Ringer

How-To: Manage MiCollab Ringer

Mitel MiCollab provides users with advanced communication tools, including customizable ringer settings for incoming calls. This guide walks you through managing and customizing ringer settings to ensure you never miss important calls while maintaining control over your audio notifications.

Manage via Status

If you do not wish to adjust your ringer settings, but would like to prevent calls from ringing for a temporary period of time, you may adjust your MiCollab status to Do not disturb. This will send any calls directly to your voicemail, and you will not experience any ringing. This is suggested if you are going to be joining a Teams or Zoom meeting, so the ringer does not go off in your ear while you're attending said meeting. You will just have to remember to switch your status back to In the Office (or whichever status is relevant to you) once you're available again.

  1. Select your profile picture in the upper right-hand corner, then select the Do not disturb status from the Availability drop-down menu

  1.  If you have a desk phone, you may also turn Do Not Disturb on from the phone itself as well:

Manage via Settings

Adjust Ringing Devices

  1. Select your profile picture in the upper right-hand corner and select Settings

  2. Select Call Settings and navigate to the Playback Ringtone section, and select which device to have the ringer ring to. You can choose to have the ringer ring to your Default audio device, or All Devices. For example, if you have a headset connected to your computer and set to your default, choosing Default Device here would make the ringer only ring to your headset, and not the built-in speakers of your computer. If you choose All Devices, it will ring to both your headset and the built-in speakers of your computer

Disable Ringer Entirely

  1. Select your profile picture in the upper right-hand corner and select Settings

  2. Select General, then select Notifications

  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the list and locate the Audible ringing option, then swipe the toggle switch to the left to disable ringing enitrely
Please note: You will still see the incoming call notification, the only difference is the ringer will not ring as the call is coming through

Adjusting Ringer Volume on Mitel 6940 and 6930 Desk Phones

  1. Ensure the phone is idle (not on an active call)

  2. Press the Volume Up or Volume Down button on the right side of the phone

    • Pressing Up increases the ringer volume

    • Pressing Down decreases the ringer volume

  3. The phone will play a sample ringtone to indicate the volume level

  4. Once you reach the desired volume, stop pressing the button. The phone will save the setting automatically

If you need further customization, you can also adjust audio settings in the phone’s Settings Menu:

  • Press the Gear Icon on the touchscreen (for the 6940) or navigate to Settings > Audio (for the 6930)

  • Adjust the Ringer Volume from there
